Rain and relief in Chennai

It rained yesterday and today's paper wrote of rain bringing relief for Chennities.

It rained heavily and continuously for three days and newspaper mentioned the need for relief for flooded victims!
This is Chennai and it is raining.
Chennai is where rain and relief are closely associated! It goes two way, like they said the two faces of a coin! but here it is confusing! You need two coin here. One for rain and relief and the other for relief and relief itself! The positive and negative relief.

It rained and brings relief as cooling down the humidity.
It rained and flooded and victims are given help, aid relief from the rain brought woes.
It happened to me as well....
I was in my haste to catch my cab. I didn't even spare a minute to submit my completed crosswords which can win me prize!
Take a seconds to shutdown my workstation and literally run down the lift!
Just in time to catching my pick up cab and then we speed off! But our high speed was really a short lived one. This IT corridor stretch which used to be a free runways was full of vehicles on both the sides.

Our driver skip the congestion and took a shortcut and on that too we're moving on a snail pace. Finally after some 45minutes we're out again on the highway again. We moved again slowly, inch by inch, hour by an hour and sometimes we're at halt for a long quiet time! Engine's dead, cab mates sleeping, others stretching and yawning, finally one cab mate preferred to walking and then he got out! Rest of us don't want to give up and we stayed inside the cab bearing the rain from inside, safe and warm.

The roads were full of vehicles on the either side and dropping lights. I see romanticism here!!
we arrived at one particular junction where we halt more than 45 minutes again. When we start pacing up that particular congestion it looks like a miracle when we start zooming!! The road which we took was a freeway and we speed more than the limit. The other side was full of vehicles as far as the eye can see. Ocean of lights when they switched onto their automobiles lights!

We got a hair rising scare when we get almost stuck in a drain but escape.
It was a big relief for all of us when we reached our safe zones. Being the second last person to be dropped I knew we were all safe then. Took around 3hours and 30minutes to reached home which was actually done in 40minutes in normal days! The main reason for the day's congestion was the human chain formed by Chennities in support for the Sri Lankan Tamils.

In Chennai:
Rain brought relief.
Rain brought havoc and the relief!
Rain brought irritation and relief from irritation!
Rain brought relief for farmers who longs for it for their crops!

Go Obama go...

Regardless of the daylight time savings all things seems normal at this time.

Yeah Obama became my favorite when I learn of his policy from newspapers and other medias and his policy are really looking cool.

In his race in the primaries I was favoring Hillary Clinton and on the other hand if Hillary oust him I didn't wish for her to win over McCain. Yeah, some kinda outdated male chauvinism!
One another reflect was that Jeffrey Archer's "The Prodigal's Daughter" would have an insight in the story! and I didn't want this to be happen! Life shouldn't be as in a book! It ain't interesting.

So far, so good performance for Obama and until the day he got news that he is the 44th President of th US of A, he sure will be having a number of sleepless nights!! He'll got what he deserved! and I say life should be counted on works and success earned by hard work.
To becoming the first black but also the first non white US presidnet it won't be easy all along.
It will be a historic day for the oldest democracy in the world United States of America.

Countdown begins!

Ghost stories

Yes! Ghost stories..Tell me...You tell me...

Scared but curiosity got the better.
Stories that run down the spine
Narrations that beat the veins.

Of rattling sounds
of howling winds
of sneaky shadows
of faint distant voices
of footsteps sounds
of creaking doors
of banging windows
of things that moved by itself

Yes something was around us, Some people encountered it, others don't
Some believe in ghosts, some don't. There is also a difference in opinion when talking of ghosts!
Some non-believers turned into a believer when things happened to them.

Yet so strange are ghosts! Who are ghosts? Where do they live? Where do they come from?
All answers might be available if one got the guts to ask a ghost upon encounter!
meanwhile ghosts stories are fun if you got some scary babes listening to them.
There are college students who needs company to bathroom etc. etc.
They also stick to the back!!

Poltergeist!

Poltergeist
a ghost or spirit supposed to manifest its presence by noises, knockings, etc.

Last year October I was in my home state and helping my sister.
I was in school teaching and in hostel looking after pre-matric students.
There are 4 of us hostel assistants or student guardian running the hostel administration.
Another additional guardian and a helper was also there occupying the down base portion of the hostel/house.

I had an assignment and was out of town for two weeks in the same month.
Upon returning from my trip was hearing a ghost stories about the hostel!!!
I was very much interested and eventually started discussing with one of my colleague who was a friend since childhood. He told me what he knew. It happened down in the base.
One night base room occupants had to shift to the upper rooms around 2:30 am.

Instantly i was down in the base room. Ya it sure looks haunted. Then how do I defined its haunted. lemme try...First, the room was dark. second...i don't know what else to say but it real got unconnected to something which i don't know. I looked onto the wall. A group poster of Chelsea FC players was there and the remaining was pasted full with newspaper clips. So which one among the picture is having a high time here and what does it want!! So what does it wants to communicate?? Yeah some questions was left unanswered! who is the ghost?

The occupants are resigned seminarians (2 out of the 3) and i guess i thrust them. The shaking of bed, the tapping of floors, flashes of the watt bulbs, the trampling of the canvased toilet roofs, etc.

However these stories doesn't do rounds with the students and are interpreted in ways of jokes and they had a secure feelings. We started keeping vigil. I keep my mobile alarm at an intervals of every 2 hrs and then checked with torchlights and then will be sleep accordingly. It doesn't occur again. With another assignments to looking after a camping matric students at the other side of the town, i had to spend my nights out of the main hostel. But things are improving fast with the occupants chanting the rosary and other prayers at dusk.

It was never heard again until then.
